Great restaurant. Love the option to have real maple syrup for only 2 Prompt service. Good atmosphere. Best coffee I have had at any Diner so far and that's hard to find these days. Can't wait to return to try the lunch menu

Kind servers, busy spot, all day breakfast, and tasty food (with good portions). I enjoyed the quick service and food options. Coffee was regularly refilled, and so was water. Food portions and taste is what you'd expect from a dinner and it was great. If you're looking for a classic diner experience, I reccomend Al's.

Al and his beautiful Wife have been running this place for decades, and if you haven't heard of it... Get out from under your rock! The best deal, hands down, is the Truckers breakfast and if you eat that you won't need lunch. The coffee is terrific, the service is surely and has just the right tweak of no-BS attitude. Heck... The Police go out of their way to eat here!!! Al swears he makes the best wings, but I haven't tried them yet... So I can't comment. If you get them, let me know how they are. They also do take out which is great if you want to pick up a few breakfasts to drag back home (or to your hotel) on a lazy Sunday morning.

One of my favorite local spots to get breakfast. Always love getting their eggs benny and their potatoes are so amazing! Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The eggs benny were great, the hollandaise sauce was creamy and savoury, and overall the portions were generous and had good flavors and texture. 10/10 would go back anytime. :)

We decided to try Al’s out and it was the best decision ever. We were looking for a good breakfast spot, Al’s was our first try and we haven’t tried anywhere new since because it’s so good! We even brought some of our family that was visiting to see how good it is! Foods always hot, good portion sizes, friendly service (shout out to Cathy!), perfection. You won’t be disappointed!

Lovely spot for a brunch. Went here on the weekend and got the Trucker’s breakfast and my girlfriend got the Bacon Eggs Benny. Neat interior that you would expect from a traditional throwback diner. The food and service were both excellent. For the price of brunch, you cannot really find a better value in the area. I will be back. The only drawbacks are how packed it gets during prime brunch time because there isn’t that much parking and you might have to risk a no-parking zone down the street. Also it is a bit crowded at the entrance, so anyone with a walker or wheelchair might have a problem getting around inside.

Mom and pop diners are only as good as their servers. The food was absolutely fantastic and the value for what I received on the Al’s special, eggs, bacon, toast, beans, and toast was phenomenal. But to the point that, my coffee cup never went empty. I was checked in with often, taken care of, felt very comfortable, sorted the order out to get exactly what I requested...the service provided by Caroline was that of a five star Michelin rated restaurant. No grumpy or offhanded comments, just a genuine kindness with phenomenal food and service with the sense that I was literally in her home breakfast nook. Easy parking, the kitchen, the staff .......this place is the hands-down best experience for brunch I have ever had in the city. Thank you.
